“Why am I paying for Ads when no one can see them?”
“Why can I always see my competitor’s ads but not mine?”
I have been asked this question a lot, A LOT.
You carefully chose your keywords, create your ads and excitedly go to Google and expect to see your PPC ad showing right?
If you are reading this article you are probably a little deflated, frustrated and probably thinking Google is stealing your money.
There are a number of reasons why you can’t see your ads. No-one using Google will get the same search results, this is due to Google’s Ad delivery algorithm. If you search for the same keywords over and over but are not clicking on the ads – why would you it’s your own business you just want visual proof they exist. Google then takes into account that the ads you have seen didn’t result in any clicks (code for didn’t make Google any money) therefor Google will change the ads for something it thinks you are more likely to click on.
If you click on an ad a number of times Google detects this as fraud and will stop showing the ads to you. The consequences of this are you are contributing to to reducing your ads quality score.
The best advice I can give you if you want to check them Google has a tool for this (Google pretty much has a tool for everything). It is called the Ad Preview Tool you need to be signed into your Adwords account to use it. This will give you a snapshot of what your ads will look like and where they are sitting in Google.
